Features: This book is a research outcome of our university's "Educating for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" initiative. While reviewing the manuscript, I found that the book strongly embodies a regional service awareness, closely linking our university's Greater Bay Area education with the implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems" principle and the cultivation of talents for the special administrative regions. It also connects with the Greater Bay Area collaboration. This awareness is a reflection of the service-oriented concept. Our university has always emphasized serving society in its educational endeavors. Regarding our service area, we have always been clear that we aim to support the economic development and social progress of Guangdong Province. At the same time, we have continuously strengthened our influence on the Greater Bay Area and enhanced our impact in Hong Kong, Macao, and Southeast Asia based on our educational capabilities and regional characteristics. Moving forward, as we continue to develop our distinctive initiatives, we will further solidify our educational philosophy of serving the Hong Kong and Macao communities, contributing more to the implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems" principle in these regions.
The team members of the project worked hard on writing this book. In addition to collecting and organizing historical materials, they, under the leadership of Vice President Wu Yingmin, conducted field research in Hong Kong and Macao. In a short period, they visited our alumni, partner institutions, and relevant government departments, gathering a wealth of firsthand materials. These materials have enriched the content of the book, expanded our connections, and provided a basis for decision-making in our future Greater Bay Area educational efforts. These achievements are commendable and a result of our teaching evaluation work.
