Features: Mr. Zheng Yimei (1895–1992) is a renowned figure in the field of literature and history, both in China and abroad. Since 1913, he has been publishing his writings in newspapers and magazines, and even in his advanced years, he continued to write without ceasing, creating a remarkable story in the literary world. His works primarily focus on anecdotes from the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, drawing from a wide range of sources and forming a grand collection. These writings have become invaluable materials for understanding the modern literary scene. In his early works, Mr. Zheng often used classical Chinese, which was concise, subtle, and elegant; in his later years, his masterpieces combined vernacular Chinese with classical elements, blending knowledge and entertainment seamlessly. These works, with their unique prose style and accessible yet refined tone, have won praise from readers across various fields. Mr. Zheng Yimei had previously compiled over forty books, and after his passing, his familyed additional works from his manuscripts for publication. However, most of these individual publications were published many years ago and are now difficult to find in the market. Now, Zhonghua Book Company has obtained permission from Mr. Zheng's family, selected his representative works, and compiled them into the Zheng Yimei Collection, which will be published in separate volumes to delight readers. Flowers in the Literary Garden, originally published by Zhongzhou Fine Arts Publishing House in 1983; in 1991, Hebei People's Publishing House included this book in the Selected Works of Zheng Yimei (Volume 2). This edition is now reprinted based on the 1983 first edition of Zhongzhou Fine Arts Publishing House, with some corrections and additional illustrations.
