Features: In 1931, Japanese imperialism launched the September 18th Incident, militarily occupying Northeast China and fabricating the so-called "Manchukuo." Subsequently, they launched a full-scale invasion of China. From then on, the Chinese people were forced to embark on a difficult and long anti-Japanese journey, engaging in a 14-year arduous and indomitable struggle against the Japanese invaders. In 1945, after defeating German fascism, the Soviet Union, according to the Yalta Agreement, declared war on Japan on August 8 and entered Northeast China on August 9. With the heroic cooperation of the Chinese anti-Japanese armed forces, the Soviet troops swiftly crushed the Japanese Kwantung Army stationed in Northeast China. On August 15, 1945, Emperor Hirohito of Japan announced an unconditional surrender. On September 2, 1945, the Japanese surrender signing ceremony was held aboard the battleship "Missouri" moored in Tokyo Bay. World War II was declared over. The Chinese people, together with the people of the world, won the great victory in the anti-fascist war. The Anti-Japanese War of the Chinese people was an important part of the anti-fascist war of the people of the world. For this, the Chinese people paid a great sacrifice and heavy price, but also won the support and respect of peace-loving countries and people around the world. The Soviet Union's intervention in Northeast China and its war against Japan were a great battle cooperation between peace-loving countries and people around the world in opposing the common enemy—fascism. To coincide with the "Historical Moments" exhibition co-organized by the Northeast China Martyrs Memorial Hall and the Khabarovsk Regional History Museum of Russia, a selection of historical photographs taken by Soviet war correspondents such as Nikolai Shuklin were compiled into this book. Most of the photographs in the book are seen by readers for the first time, to some extent filling the gaps in historical records. Dedicated to the traditional battle friendship between the Chinese and Russian peoples, and to the 60th anniversary of the victory in the anti-fascist war of the world! The book includes a large number of documentary photographs taken by photographers such as Nikolai Shuklin who followed the Soviet Red Army to Northeast China to participate in the war. In a form combining text and images, and in both Chinese and Russian, it thoroughly records the entire process of the Soviet Red Army entering Northeast China and swiftly crushing the Japanese Kwantung Army with the cooperation of the Chinese anti-Japanese armed forces. The precious historical photographs included in the book are mostly seen by readers for the first time, to some extent filling the gaps in historical records.
