Features: This book elaborates and analyzes the structure of happiness psychology, research methods, evaluation techniques, and the psychological and physiological foundations of happiness. It provides a detailed study of the relationships between happiness and personality, culture, society, family, and other factors. It is highly practical and readable, suitable for psychology students and theoretical researchers, as well as ordinary readers seeking knowledge, methods, and pathways to improve their quality of life and enhance happiness. The first part of the book lays the necessary theoretical groundwork for the development of scales. Based on a systematic review of previous studies on subjective well-being measurement and their limitations, the author defines subjective well-being from a multi-integrative perspective and proposes a research approach for the experiential theory of subjective well-being measurement. The second part of the book focuses on the development of the Scale of Subjective Well-Being among Urban Chinese Residents, which is the core of the entire research. This part builds on the first part, and the scale development combines factor analysis and logical analysis. The book first compiles a 150-item questionnaire on subjective well-being among urban Chinese residents. Using a combination of factor analysis and logical analysis, the questionnaire is subjected to item analysis, and through progressive elimination, a 43-item scale of subjective well-being among urban residents is formed. The third part of the book is a follow-up study on the development of the scale. This part involves the field testing of the 54-item scale of subjective well-being among urban Chinese residents developed in the second part, further verifying the reliability and validity of the scale in specific research contexts. The third part consists of five relatively independent studies. The fourth part of the book summarizes the entire research, analyzes some of the problems encountered, and outlines future directions for further efforts.
