Features: This book, starting from the basic standpoint of Marxist epistemology, employs the principle of subject-object correlation to systematically address the age-old and ever-relevant question of "What is knowledge?" The entire book consists of three closely interconnected parts. Part 1, through multidimensional examinations of the mechanisms of knowledge generation and development, cultural substrates, and intrinsic compositional methods, reveals the essence of knowledge and elucidates its inherent characteristics. Part 2, by examining both the static and dynamic structures of knowledge, analyzes meta-structure, disciplinary structure, and overall structure, as well as individual and social knowledge structures, demonstrating from an ontological perspective that knowledge structure is the externalization of the intrinsic essential determinants of knowledge. Part 3, through an examination of the subjective and objective forms, individual and social forms, and conceptual and materialized forms of knowledge, further elucidates from different angles that knowledge forms are merely the differentiation of knowledge's essence and structure. In the process of revealing the definition of knowledge, the book adheres to the methodological principles of moving from simple to complex, from abstract to concrete, and from lower to higher levels, viewing knowledge structures and forms as the continuous externalization, differentiation, and unfolding of the intrinsic essential determinants of knowledge.
