Features: Ancient Yang Xiong said, "Books are the heart's painting." From a writer's handwriting, one can glimpse their spiritual pursuits and inner activities. Reading a writer's handwritten manuscripts is indeed an interesting experience. Especially the drafts of a writer's creations, the pages are filled with revision marks. From these revisions, one can see the writer's thought process, how they structure their articles, how they refine their words, and how they transform elusive thoughts into concrete expressions. The handwritten manuscripts of writers collected in this book were supplemented and adjusted based on the Shanghai Writers' Association Manuscript Exhibition. The book includes a total of one hundred and eight writers' manuscripts. The oldest is Lu Xun, born in 1881, and the youngest is Sun Ganlu, born in 1959, truly representing several generations together. They all once lived and worked in Shanghai, and their literary activities outline the trajectory of modern Chinese literature while also providing a vivid commentary on the history and culture of the city. They witnessed an era and showcased the wisdom and emotions of Chinese writers who wrote in Chinese characters in the 20th century.
