Features: "If other countries have a design theory, Italy has a design philosophy, or perhaps a design thought system," Umberto Eco, the Italian semiotician, cultural critic, and writer, once proudly declared. Continuing the spirit of Design Private Life, continues to share his interesting insights in the field of design with readers in his unique life-writing style. The difference is that this book focuses on "Italy." In terms of design, because the creative approach of placing all design objects in a large full-page photograph in Design Private Life has almost become a distinctive signature of the Design series, this book will continue it. However, the cover will be completely different, presenting the vibrant and lively atmosphere of Italy, clearly distinguishing itself from the previous covers that followed a calm and refined aesthetic. The main colors on the inner pages will also be based on Italy's classic red, white, and green. Her authentic cuisine, her classic films, her historical architecture, her avant-garde furniture design, her magnificent opera, her elegant fashion, her experimental literature, her traditional painting and sculpture, and her enchanting landscapes—everything becomes distinguished and esteemed once labeled with "Italian." Starting and ending with Italy, it is not a distant foreign land but a continuous pursuit of clarity within oneself. Reducing often makes things too delicate, sharp, and tense. Enlarging, and then enlarging again—that is what I truly enjoy: the ambiguity, warmth, and ease.
