White Nights depicts the innocent girl, Natasha, falling in love with a boarder. The two agree to meet on a bridge a year later, but the boarder does not appear as scheduled. The narrator of the story comforts the female protagonist and accompanies her in waiting for four nights, finally the boarder appears and takes the girl away. The Gambler revolves around a group of gamblers participating in roulette, portraying the life journeys and spiritual states of two generations of Russian landlords and nobles in the 19th century.
