Only then can he present a relatively scientific and accurate picture of the Leshan dialect to the readers, including its phonetic system, lexical and grammatical features, internal differences within the Leshan dialect, comparisons between Leshan phonetics and Middle Chinese sounds, and comparisons between Leshan phonetics and Mandarin, and so on.
