Features: What is the thinking or fundamental responsibility of a nation, or what is the highest responsibility of a scholar or journalist? In my view, it lies in understanding the characteristics of our own era, presenting the facts we are concerned about and care about, and giving these facts full rational analysis. If we do not explain and question the difficulties, problems, and various phenomena we have encountered, then as scholars or journalists, or as a nation's thinking, we will fall into a state of mental stagnation, confusion, and anxiety, and the entire society will fall into a mental short circuit. Humanities and social sciences that reflect the national spirit and the spirit of the times are the soul of the nation and the foundation of national independence. At any time, we must have a sense of mission to cultivate and cherish it. This is not only the mission of a country but also the duty of every citizen. Here recorded is the interactive process of the spiritual growth of a university and a nation. The modern world is facing the pressure that reason is difficult to control. To resist this pressure, we may still appear weak and powerless. But the existence of such a university itself means that there is indeed a confidence in human reason, and it affirms the existence of a spiritual force—even though its role is still hard to estimate. It witnesses the unyielding will of a nation and its yearning for future civilization.
