Features: The issues discussed in this book are increasingly prominent and unavoidable in modern society. Specifically:
(1) From an intergenerational perspective, the first issue encountered is how to define "generation."
(2) A prominent intergenerational issue in modern society is the so-called "generation gap."
(3) The family intergenerational ethics is a microcosm and a specific domain of social intergenerational ethics.
(4) If the generation gap in moral values and family intergenerational ethics are primarily viewed through the lens of ethical relationships between the generations present, then sustainable development in intergenerational ethics and intergenerational equity issues are viewed through the theoretical lens of ethical relationships between the generations present as well as between the generations already departed and those yet to appear.
(5) In the context of globalization, the relationship between national ethical cultures and regional ethical cultures also manifests a deep blindness in social intergenerational relationships.
(6) The development of modern science and technology, particularly information and network technology, and modern life sciences, has not only posed new intergenerational ethical issues for humanity but also provided humanity with a new perspective for observing intergenerational relationships.
