Features: Chen Danyan, in the public's eyes, is always dressed in an old-fashioned embroidered cheongsam, with high heels featuring openwork revealing ten crimson toes, exuding a fragrance of perfume. With her pen, she creates a dense and indissoluble Old Shanghai—a small woman who brings back the streets of Shanghai decades ago. Beyond the stories of noble ladies and romantic tales, what else can she express? Open The Dance of an Aestheticist, and you will meet a different Chen Danyan: the essayist Chen Danyan, who is also a masterful writer. Her words no longer dwell on the lingering dreams of the old Shanghai, but remain pure, portraying a mature woman with an air of innocence, sharing life's heartfelt stories. Whether you liked her in the past or not, this will be a brand-new beginning for you! This is a collection of Chen Danyan's essays and from recent years. "Every small feeling about life must be settled and expressed through writing." This is Chen Danyan's life. "The Dance of an Aestheticist" is a very fitting title for her essays. Although aestheticism may sometimes appear thin or out of place, the purity and sincerity, as well as the lively melancholy of the 1980s, still deeply move you. Chen Danyan, who transitioned from children's literature to adult literature, made a natural shift, and the best part is that she maintained a simple expression. Simplicity is beauty. An aestheticist's perspective on life, recorded in words, naturally carries a stronger touch of aestheticism. However, the reading experience is quite pleasant.
