Features: This series discusses the modernization of Commonwealth countries. According to the overall plan of the series, we conduct a study of each Commonwealth country. Larger and more important countries, as well as those with closer relations with China, each have a dedicated book, while other countries are grouped by region, with each region forming a single book. This series provides case studies of Commonwealth countries. Through analysis, it attempts to reveal the different development experiences of various countries. Each country has its unique experience, but in terms of development paths, Commonwealth countries share similarities. A common feature of all Commonwealth countries is that they have all experienced British colonial rule. British rule has left its mark on the history of Commonwealth countries and has influenced their development after independence. On the other hand, the modernization of all Commonwealth countries began only under the stimulus of colonial invasion, so they were all forced into the modernization process. These two common points determine their similarities in modernization paths, as the British-style development path has left a legacy in Commonwealth countries. For many Commonwealth countries, development is gradual, and violent conflicts are uncommon. The independence processes of most Commonwealth countries were completed smoothly, which allowed many colonial-era institutions to remain preserved after independence. The continuity of institutions has ensured that post-independence development has generally proceeded in a peaceful direction, with few abrupt changes. As a result, for most Commonwealth countries, despite their diverse modernization experiences, their development paths are relatively similar, sharing common characteristics. Most Commonwealth countries followed the British model, experienced fewer disturbances, and maintained more stable political situations, which were conducive to national development.
