Features: The writing intention of this book, subjectively, is to reveal the formation, development, and characteristics of book printing and book collection in Huizhou, within its specific geographical and ecological environment, as well as its social and cultural context. The book starts with bibliographies. Representative bibliographies are selected, and relevant works by Huizhou authors and Huizhou-printed books are extracted and compiled into cards. Then, using the library's collection, efforts are made to examine as many original books as possible. For those not held by the Tianjin Library, the holdings of other libraries are utilized as much as possible. Additionally, prefaces, postfaces, and bibliographies with annotations and summaries are consulted to gain a deeper understanding of individual Huizhou-printed books. On this basis, the chapters are synthesized, summarized, systematized, and drafted. Although this is a cumbersome method, it is the only way to ensure a solid foundation for the writing. During the writing process, the book strives to combine historical analysis with theoretical discussion, using bibliographies and historical facts of book collection as a basis. Subsequently, it discusses some universal and issues, avoiding either a mere accumulation of historical materials or unfounded and vague arguments. This is a relatively concise manuscript with over 200,000 words.
