Features: The positioning of this series of books has two aspects of significance: "On the one hand, it is a beneficial attempt at anthropological texts, and on the other hand, its plain and accessible records are readable for general readers." When asked why they chose the family as the starting point, Gao Feayuan, Party Secretary of Yunnan University and the series' editor, introduced to the reporter: "The family is most capable of reflecting the characteristics of ethnic minorities. Previous research has rarely involved the rich and diverse ethical morals of ethnic minorities, yet it is also one of the main cultural differences among ethnic groups. The family is the most charming and ethically colored part of ethnic minorities, through which one can reflect many aspects of the nation's history and religion." What makes it particularly distinctive is that many of the works in this substantial collection are written by authors from their own ethnic groups, and some even directly write about their own families. "For example, Mr. Yang Fuchuan, a Naxi scholar and Deputy Director of the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, wrote about his own family. Additionally, Han, Manchu, and Korean ethnic groups are the same." In terms of writing style, different authors adopted different methods. Some organized the text around family members, others focused on the history of ethnic families, and some highlighted families within the context of their communities. "From the perspective of recording families, describing real-life stories of ethnic groups, preserving and rescuing ethnic cultural resources, allowing readers to understand anthropological knowledge, the essence of life, and social development and changes while enjoying the stories, and thereby promoting mutual understanding and unity among ethnic groups for development—this is an inescapable responsibility." Editor Gao Feayuan said with deep emotion.
