Journal of Lexicology. Issue 13

Author: Deng Qiaobin
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2001-01-01
Features: Twenty years ago, the "Inception" section of this journal included the following passage: "We founded Ci Xue (Studies in Lyric Poetry) with the aim of carving out a specialized field within the vast realm of classical literature as our garden for cultivation. Although our research on Ci studies is still in its infancy, having this garden allows us to gather the achievements of scholars from China and abroad, engage in mutual discussion and exchange, share information, and benefit from each other. Everyone can thus find convenience in their research. For this reason, we have undertaken this specialized journal dedicated to Ci studies without fully realizing our limitations. We hope to gain the support of scholars both at home and abroad, so that this journal can provide a platform for Ci scholars, a professional reading material for enthusiasts of Ci, and resources for those engaged in classical literature teaching or cultural work. When this journal was first established, there were twenty editorial committee members. Now, many of the venerable figures in the Ci world have passed away, and Professor Qian Jinfan has also departed. Upon hearing the news, our colleagues are particularly grieved. Professor Qian was proficient in both literature and history, advocating the integration of textual research and literary studies. His students in Jiangcheng have all grown into towering trees. Although the sage has left, the fire will continue to burn, ensuring that the 'Qian School' will flourish and be passed down."
