Second, adhere to the scientific spirit of seeking truth from facts and adopt a dialectical and objective analytical approach. Third, adhere to the historical perspective of using the past for the present. Fourth, adhere to the local characteristics of Shanghai, focusing on reflecting important people and events in the development of modern education that are distinctive to Shanghai.
In terms of format, the book is primarily divided into chapters based on historical stages, while also including two chapters on Shanghai's concessions education and church education.
