Lanwen Ci (Shuyun Lou Congkan)

Author: (Song) Lu You
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-12-01
Features: Lu You writes small lyrics with a grand style, which is quite distinctive. His lyrical pieces are light, fluent, and perfectly match the tone, without any sense of difficulty or hardship. The famous works that express his ambition to reclaim the Central Plains are even lighter, expressed with ease and sincerity, without any tension or aggression, purely moving readers with their natural depth. Hu Ming of the Ming Dynasty praised them as follows: "In delicacy, they resemble Huaihai; in boldness, they resemble Dongpo." The text of this book is based on the "Renhé Wu Family's Shuangzhao Building Edition of Song and Yuan Lyrics," supplemented with newly compiled omissions. All the works have been punctuated, and some chapters include comments from previous scholars, aiming to help readers better appreciate the style of Lu You's lyrics.
