Author: Huang Yongyu

Publish Date: 1997-05-05
Features: Before the Xingtai Earthquake, the author had been working in the production team there, engaged in the "Four Cleanups." Bored and restless, he wrote some "Animal Short Sentences" to pass the time, which gradually accumulated into over eighty entries. Some comrades found them amusing, even laughing uncontrollably. The author himself also found them entertaining and planned to return to Beijing to find a publisher to print a small booklet, complete with interesting illustrations. That's how this book came to be. This book collects over eighty "Animal Short Sentences," which once weighed heavily on the author like a cross. He carried it, was then firmly nailed to it, and finally was set down again. These eighty "Animal Short Sentences" have been lost, but were later collected by friends, both known and unknown. Back then, they copied them from the big-character posters used to criticize the author. The funny part is that they also included some works similar to his, which were clearly better than his, but ultimately not his own. Even though he was reluctant to part with them, he had no choice but to let them go.
