Features: This textbook is adapted from the original "Chess" written by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission for Curriculum and Textbook Reform, and is intended for trial use in activity classes for lower grades in primary schools. The textbook adopts a flexible modular structure: for first-grade teaching, it can cover the first 16 lessons if 16 class hours are used, or all 32 lessons if 32 class hours are used. For second and third grades, the teaching pace is slightly faster, and all 32 lessons can be completed in 16 class hours. At the end of each lesson, there are 16 concise game introductions that can serve as supplementary material for third-grade teaching or as after-class reading materials for all grades. Thus, it can better accommodate the diverse needs of students in lower grades.
