Features: This book is one of Shakespeare's four great tragedies. The protagonist, Hamlet, is a truth-seeking humanist and a typical Renaissance intellectual. His usurping uncle poisons his father and takes over his mother, forcing him to undertake the tasks of revenge and restoring order to the court. For this, he sacrifices his studies and abandons love, becoming a madman who is both real and feigned. In many of his long soliloquies, he explores life's dilemmas and reveals the philosophy of contradictions. This play contains beautiful poetry, humorous dialogue, tense and bloody scenes, and culminates in the tragic end of the prince's eternal regret. The original is a poem from the late 16th century in England, which is somewhat distant from modern English. However, with the help of annotations, readers can understand and appreciate it. Many of its famous lines have become an integral part of the English language. This book can be used as a textbook for advanced undergraduate or graduate students of English majors, as well as an excellent English reading material for self-learners and literary translators of similar proficiency.
