Hamlet. Romeo and Juliet

Author: Shakespeare

Publish Date: 2003-05-01
Features: The plot of Hamlet is primarily about the prince, who is young, wise, decisive, and both brave and intelligent. He hears the murder of his father from the ghost of his father, who reveals that his uncle has seized the throne and deceived his sister-in-law to become the queen after his ascension. The prince then resolves to take decisive action, keeping the matter absolutely secret, first to verify the accusations made by his father's ghost, and then to seek ways to punish the evil and dispel the dark clouds of corruption in the court. As for his own gains, losses, safety, life, and reputation, he does not concern himself with them at all. Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous plays among the thirty-seven poems and plays Shakespeare wrote in his lifetime, which is perhaps related to the eternal literary theme of love that runs through the entire play. However, it is one of Shakespeare's earlier works and is not considered as mature in terms of character portrayal and writing techniques as some of his later works.
