The English version is a direct translation from the German text, while the French, Japanese, and Spanish versions are translated from the English text.

The English-Chinese edition of the Duden Illustrated Dictionary published by our institution not only provides Chinese translations for each entry but also includes an alphabetically arranged foreign language index at the end of the book (a Chinese index arranged by Pinyin will be added in future editions if necessary). The Chinese translations were provided by the original publishers, but some of the translations of specialized terms and object names differ from the conventional names used in mainland China. Therefore, we have made some modifications to the original translations, and we take full responsibility for any inaccuracies. For some images in the original book, with the consent of Oxford University Press, we have also made necessary technical adjustments. However, due to the broad scope of the original book, which mostly covers Western affairs, if there are still imperfections in the translation, we welcome feedback from.
