Graduated in 1982 from the Graduate School of Classical Literature, Chinese Department, Fujian Normal University, studying under Professor Huang Shouqi and earning a Master's degree in Literature. Currently a lecturer in the Chinese Department of Guizhou University. Primarily engaged in the research and teaching of Chinese classical literature. In addition to this book, he has also written "An Introduction to the Chu Ci" and co-authored "Five Hundred Quatrain Poems from the Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties" with Fang Kaijiang.
