Features: The French gallery industry, with its long history, standardized operations, and regional concentration, still reflects a certain aspect of French cultural traditions. At the same time, we also see that the French gallery industry, like the French economy, is gradually emerging from a downturn and adapting to the objective trends of social development, continuously exploring development patterns suitable for the contemporary art market. The rise and fall of these galleries are very worthy of reflection and research for our peers engaged in the contemporary gallery industry in China. When introducing galleries, one cannot mention the FIAC (French International Art Fair), held annually in mid-October in Paris. It is an important venue for the promotion and exchange of international contemporary art. The first FIAC in 1969 was organized by several mid-tier galleries in Paris, and subsequently, many top-tier galleries joined. The earliest exhibition was held at the Bastille, and its peak period was at the Grand Palais. In the past two editions, it has been held at the RER C line, with the duration of the exhibition shortened from one week to just three days. In 2002, FIAC had participants from forty-eight different countries, with over eighty foreign galleries involved. It should be noted that, with the changes in the art market, many galleries also undergo updates and transformations. This book primarily focuses on interviews with Parisian galleries.
