Features: This reform eliminates the purely vocabulary-based exam and no longer tests word meaning differentiation, shifting focus to assessing candidates' understanding of words in their linguistic context, such as filling in blanks based on context in cloze tests. Short passage questions and translation tasks also prioritize evaluating candidates' overall grasp and application of the language. The reading section will mainly test candidates' accurate comprehension of local meanings in texts and their ability to read quickly. Due to the significantly increased length of reading passages in the new format and the addition of quick reading, candidates are required to respond to words swiftly to quickly understand the content and complete the questions within the allotted time. To address this, this book specifically designs a grouped repetition memorization method, enabling candidates to master vocabulary through scientific repetition techniques, improve their reaction speed to words, and thus achieve better results in reading. For specific methods, please refer to the introductory guide of this book.
Based on an analysis of historical exam questions and opinions from numerous experts, the CET-4 exam is becoming increasingly difficult, particularly in terms of vocabulary, with more out-of-range words appearing. As the difficulty of reading in the new format has greatly increased, out-of-range words are bound to appear more frequently in exams. To address this trend, this book specifically includes a vocabulary expansion section, which compiles out-of-range words that have never appeared in exams but are highly likely to appear in the future, to further help candidates improve their scores.
