Features: English writing has always been a challenging part for Chinese students. Many complain that they have memorized numerous online sample essays, yet achieve minimal results. Beyond grammar and vocabulary issues, many students struggle with having no idea how to approach essay topics, despite having a wealth of examples but no clue how to organize them, leaving them unable to start writing. Clearly, they face not just "writing poorly" but "not knowing how to write." During the writing process of this book, the authors conducted interviews with a large number of students and found that many lacked good writing habits, followed unscientific writing processes, and possessed missing writing skills. Addressing the common problems faced by students, this book is designed for IELTS candidates scoring 7 or below, offering the following assistance:
1. Strengthening a scientific writing process: From topic review to brainstorming, outlining, to finally reviewing the entire text. It breaks down each step in detail, providing hands-on guidance to solve students' doubts about "how to write," "where to start," and "what to do at each step."
2. Conducting targeted skill training: The skill orientation of the IELTS writing exam is highly evident. The two essays assess different writing skills, such as describing data, analyzing and comparing, presenting and proving viewpoints, etc. By thoroughly analyzing official sample essays, examiner comments, and official scoring guidelines, the authors have categorized the skills tested in the IELTS writing exam into three difficulty levels, progressing from easy to advanced, guiding students step by step.
3. Covering scenarios and topics throughout the book: With skill training as the core, the book includes extensive in-class and after-class exercises, connecting all lessons through scenarios and topics. It aims to enable students, through studying this book, to confidently address various essay topics (e.g., family-related, environmental issues, etc.) with relevant arguments, helping them understand IELTS writing exam points in a relaxed and engaging way as they strive for high scores.
