Features: With the development of society, English has become a tool for more and more people. To meet the needs of English learning and application, over a dozen long-term English professionals spent years compiling this "English-Chinese Dictionary." This dictionary fully draws on the compilation experience of English learning dictionaries internationally while also incorporating the characteristics of English learning in China, forming its unique features:
1. Updated and Comprehensive Word Selection. The dictionary contains over 100,000 entries, all carefully selected by the compilers, including commonly used and newly emerging words in daily life.
2. Reasonable Arrangement. In the internal structure of each entry, the compilers have considered both the key points for memorization and the word formation characteristics. Therefore, whether in the definition of words, the selection of example sentences and idioms, or the identification of derived words, the compilers have put a lot of thought into making the dictionary more aligned with readers' learning priorities and memory patterns.
3. Distinctive Appendices. The appendices of this dictionary include an irregular verb list, a list of common proper names, a table of the International System of Units, and a table of British and American military ranks. While most dictionaries include geographical names in their appendices, this has a drawback: the adjectival forms of these names cannot be reflected in the appendices.
