Educational Introduction

Features: Educational Introduction consists of sixteen chapters. The first chapter is the introduction; chapters 2 to 8 discuss "problems in various aspects of education, which is a cross-sectional study." Chapter 9 takes the school system as an entry point, while chapters 10 to 14 lay the foundation for education at all levels and types. Chapters 15 and 16 are relatively independent, focusing on educational administration and finance, and educational research, respectively. Such logic and content were later explained by Zhuang Zexuan, stating that the purpose of Educational Introduction is "to give students a bird's-eye view of pedagogy and educational techniques, helping them understand what education is, the scope of the educational cause, and the significance of their responsibilities; at the same time, it encourages them to self-reflect on whether they are suitable for this work." Educational Introduction emphasizes comparison and excels at it, manifesting in two aspects: First, Educational Introduction pioneered a comparative method across different countries. Second, it is not merely a translation or introduction but strives to localize its content. Zhuang Zexuan's Educational Introduction is far richer in content than what is covered here, and its significance cannot be fully exhausted here either. The author hopes to interpret Educational Introduction as a text, and the fusion of the author's perspective with that of Educational Introduction is merely one of many possible "perspective fusions." It is hoped that this re-publication will inspire more "perspective fusions," giving rise to more meaning through understanding.
