Features: Bai Xianyong is back. He came back in late June, just for a visit. You won’t see his at any literary public gatherings. The Summer Writing Program at the Gengshen Cultural and Educational Institute invited him to give two lectures, and the lecturer, who teaches Chinese literature in the U.S., kept complaining: "What should I talk about? I’ve never taught in Chinese—I have to?" Yu Guangzhong patted his shoulder: "In Taipei, it’s common for writers to give speeches. If you stay for another three months, TV and radio stations will all come looking for you!" But Bai Xianyong wouldn’t stay that long. By early September, he would be heading back to teach at the Santa Barbara Campus of Zhongzhou University.
