Confucius highly summarized the method of poetry writing as "Emotion should be sincere, and words should be skillful." This textbook is divided into two volumes. The first volume, "Emotion should be sincere," focuses on awakening the poetic nature inherent in everyone. The second volume, "Words should be skillful," explains poetic techniques from a practical perspective. It demonstrates the scientific nature of a textbook through correct theories and logical organization. It exhibits the practicality of a textbook with its diverse poetic examples and varied exercises. This book selects over 200 excellent poems from ancient and modern China and abroad as examples for readers to study. By familiarizing themselves with these poems, readers can not only appreciate their beauty and be nurtured emotionally but also learn poetic techniques from them. The exercises in this book include thought-provoking questions, assignments, some mechanical drills, and others that encourage creative application. They are designed for individual or group/class activities, with diverse methods, content, and a touch of fun. Some are relatively easy, while others are more challenging. This book is suitable for self-study or classroom learning for those with middle school or higher proficiency.
