Features: Lüshi Chunqiu is an important classic from China's pre-Qin period, holding great value for the study of pre-Qin history and culture in China. Since Gao You of the Eastern Han Dynasty first wrote annotations for it, there have been many scholars engaged in annotating and studying the text. However, since the 1930s of the last century, there has been no new annotated and collated edition. Professor Chen Qiyou spent over forty years of hard work compiling Lüshi Chunqiu Jiaoshi (Annotated and Collated Lüshi Chunqiu) in 1984. Later, he devoted nearly two decades more to revising and correcting it, resulting in this Newly Annotated and Collated Lüshi Chunqiu. This work not only significantly supplements previous annotations but also corrects the arguments of ancient scholars. For example, it re-examines the account in Sima Qian's Records of the Grand Historian about the Duke of Zhou enfeoffing Wei Zifu in Song, concluding that it should have been King Wu who enfeoffed him. Other aspects, such as the date of King Wu's campaign against Zhou, also present new perspectives and evidence.
