What is glaucoma and what should be noted?

Patient's question:

My eyesight has improved significantly now, and when I look at things, they appear with halos and glows. Also, when I suddenly enter a dark place, there is a longer adaptation period compared to others. What is glaucoma, and what should be noted?

Doctor's answer:

1. If you have glaucoma, it is not advisable to be overly anxious. Psychological adjustment helps in recovery, and avoiding anger is recommended.
2. In terms of diet, avoid drinking strong tea and coffee. Instead, eat more fiber-rich vegetables like celery, luffa, and cilantro, as well as fruits, to ensure regular bowel movements.
3. Do not work in dark room environments for long periods. When watching TV, keep the lights bright, avoid watching movies, and wear dark sunglasses less often.
4. Regularly check your eye pressure and keep records for timely medical guidance.
5. Control your fluid intake to prevent excessive drinking in a short period.
6. Be cautious with medication, as misusing drugs like atropine for stomach pain or anticonvulsants can either cause or relieve glaucoma.
