It serves as a reference for students to study and discuss. The book proposes a required reading list of literary masterpieces for middle school students. It encourages students to read these famous in addition to their regular Chinese language curriculum. Since the reading materials learned in class are still too limited, they can only serve as a guide for study and discussion. For this fundamental and important subject of their own language, which they will use throughout their lives and must continuously improve their understanding and mastery of, a lack of necessary reading materials and the habit of diligent study are far from sufficient. Only a small amount of material learned in class is absolutely not enough.
