Features: The current reading status of primary and secondary school teachers indicates that they are still far from achieving the learning model of teachers. Although survey results show that primary and secondary school teachers not only love books but also read, the breadth, depth, and intensity of their reading are still far from sufficient. Teachers must understand the major strategic decisions of educational reform, grasp the direction of educational development in China and the world, learn modern educational theories, and master cutting-edge knowledge in their disciplines to transition from the role of a "teacher who teaches" to a "research-oriented teacher." Strengthening teachers' reading habits and increasing the guidance on teacher reading by relevant authorities are both important issues that should be emphasized at present.
