In today’s world, competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Entering an experimental or model high school is almost equivalent to stepping into university. Against this backdrop, the high school entrance exam naturally becomes the focal point. Many students ask me, "Teacher, how can I achieve good results in the exam?" Many parents ask, "Although there are many teaching aids on the market, and a higher price is acceptable, some are outdated, and others lack focus. Could you recommend some?" Many teachers ask, "Exam question types are always changing, and with this year’s curriculum reform, what new question types or measures should we expect?"
To address these concerns, I invited 18 distinguished and highly-qualified teachers, curriculum reform experts, and outstanding educational researchers with long-term frontline teaching experience. After three years of effort, based on the Basic Education Curriculum Reform Outline (Trial Version) and in alignment with the new high school admission exam guidelines from various regions, we compiled a series of books. Our goal is to uphold the spirit of curriculum reform, introduce the reform and development of the high school entrance exam, and provide teachers and students with reference materials for exam question-setting and review guidance, especially for those who need to fill in their knowledge gaps.
According to new curriculum reform data, textbooks have undergone significant changes in both philosophy and content, meaning the exam will also differ from the past. How to set questions, how to guide students, and how to prepare for the exam have become ongoing topics of exploration. We focused on the key and challenging areas of the exam, drawing on long-term teaching experience and principles, selected exam questions from 12 provinces and cities, and provided detailed explanations and solutions. We summarized some patterns in exam question-setting and common mistakes students make during problem-solving. Breaking from tradition, we organized the content by knowledge points and compiled the Gap-Filling to Conquer the Exam series, consisting of 14 books. This series is particularly suitable for third-year high school students during their review.
The main objectives of this book are:
- To provide reference material for schools to develop mock exam questions.
- To offer direction for teachers in guiding students’ review.
- To serve as a content reference, problem-solving guide, and self-assessment standard for students.
