Features: He is often referred to as the "Online Wang Shuo." Early netizens did not deliberately conceal their real identities, but Tuoya (sometimes also written as Tuoya, nickname Ya) was an exception. His true identity remains a mystery to this day. It was not until 1994, when his prose "Xun Long Ji" won a literary award and required him to provide a brief personal introduction, that he first revealed some personal information publicly. However, the information was very limited—just "born in Beijing in the 1950s," which could be deduced by carefully reading his articles. Tuoya's writings often include slang and Beijing dialect, giving the impression of being "not serious at all." However, his language is more renowned for its creative metaphors, humor, and even irony, rather than just the reproduction of colloquial language that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Inspired by Tuoya's online fame and in honor of the pioneers of the Chinese internet, we have published a collection of his works.
