Additionally, each chapter's slides in the CD-ROM are followed by self-assessment questions and answers. Chapter 8 is a comprehensive review, providing a series of slides and questions to test the mastery of the book's content. Chapter 9 primarily introduces the treatment of various fungal diseases and all relatively important antifungal drugs. The appendix of this book includes: fungal culture, fungal identification methods, preparation of culture media, staining techniques, various tables (to assist students in learning), references and books on medical mycology, and an introduction to sufficient materials required to establish a complete medical mycology laboratory. Medical professionals with a basic understanding of mycological knowledge can use this book and its accompanying CD-ROM to teach common and important fungal diseases in Asia in a comprehensive and detailed manner. Both authors of this book have dedicated their lives to the research and teaching of fungal diseases. Dr. Glenn S. Bulmer lived and taught in the United States during his youth and later settled in Asia to engage in mycological education in his later years. Professor Zheng Yuechen has been engaged in medical education and clinical work in China.
