Publish Date: 2005-10-01
Features: This book compiles a category of protected buildings in Harbin, which represent the architectural essence of Harbin over the past century. Despite their varying construction dates, locations, and functions, they share a common feature in perfectly integrating architectural theory with social practice, achieving an elevation of both theory and practice. Previously, such books relied solely on historical photographs, focusing primarily on the representation of architectural facades. To gain a deeper understanding of the core ideas of architectural design, we employed measurement techniques to obtain precise data for each part of the buildings. This allows for a comprehensive understanding of the composition, proportions, and exterior decorative details, enabling further observation of the organic connections between different parts of the buildings and a clearer grasp of the original design concepts. Through these means, we can appreciate the academic value and cultural significance of the buildings from a deeper perspective.
