II. Basic Safety Knowledge for Plastering and Masonry Workers
1. When the masonry height exceeds 1.2 meters, scaffolding should be set up for work; for operations above 2 meters (inclusive), reliable footholds and protective measures must be provided; the scaffolding must be sturdy and stable.
2. Work at heights should be performed on operating platforms.
3. When breaking bricks, face the wall. After completing the work, clean up the debris and mortar on the scaffolding boards and brick walls to prevent falling injuries.
4. Wooden or metal scaffolds used for jointing and plastering should be set up firmly and stably. The span of the scaffolding boards must not exceed 2 meters; the ends of the scaffolding boards must have securing measures to prevent overhanging boards; materials stacked on the scaffolding must not be overly concentrated.
5. No more than two operators should work on the same scaffolding board. Tools must be placed securely to prevent falls. Running, playing, or overcrowding on scaffolding is prohibited. Do not lean on guardrails for rest or linger in pits.
6. If work needs to be performed simultaneously on multiple levels, dedicated protective sheds or other isolation facilities must be provided between the levels. Otherwise, workers should not operate below.
7. Do not stand on balconies or scaffolding railings to work.
8. Do not walk, operate, or mark lines on wall tops, nor use unstable objects to prop up scaffolding boards.
9. Do not throw materials, tools, or debris downward during work.
10. Protective railings, cover plates, and safety signs for reserved openings in buildings must not be moved or removed.
11. When transporting materials with a handcart, maintain balance and control the center of gravity. Do not sprint or let the cart slide when pushing. The distance between carts on flat ground must be at least 2 meters, and at least 10 meters when going downhill. Dismounting areas must have wheel-blocking measures.
12. No one is allowed to enter the hoist basket to push carts until it has come to a complete stop. When using hoist towers (elevators) for transport, ensure the wheels are securely blocked and the hoist rises and descends smoothly.
13. Material loading and unloading are prohibited until vertical transport equipment comes to a complete stop. When waiting for a bucket cart, stand inside the protective door of the unloading platform. Do not stick your head or hands out of the protective door. Close the protective door immediately after the bucket cart is pushed out.
14. Concrete mixer operators must be trained, pass assessments, and hold valid certifications to work.
