Features: This atlas is compiled based on several commonly used passive solar heating methods domestically and internationally, as well as more than a decade of research and practical experience in passive solar heating buildings in China. It combines the functional requirements of public and residential buildings, gathering 10 sets of representative construction drawings of passive solar buildings with distinctive features. Among them, there are 4 sets for public buildings and 6 sets for residential buildings. These passive solar buildings vary in terms of storeys (single-story, two-story, multi-story), types (brick-concrete structure and earth-sheltered architecture), and functional uses (public buildings and residential buildings). The atlas primarily features illustrations with supplementary textual descriptions. The plans, elevations, and construction details are detailed and can meet construction requirements. Some construction details in the atlas can also be used in other passive solar buildings. Additionally, the atlas calculates the thermal performance of these solar buildings in four different regions of China, providing reference for selection.
