Features: To meet the needs of the engineering management community and related professionals, the 2004 Engineering Management Academic Annual Conference was held in Dalian. The theme of this conference was "Frontiers and Practices of Engineering Management," with main content including: the development trends and cutting-edge research in the field of engineering management, the impact of economic globalization and international competition on engineering management, informatization in engineering management, engineering procurement and contract models, the management system, legal framework, and mechanisms of China's construction industry, as well as the theory and practice of engineering management. A total of over 70 papers were submitted for this conference, and after expert review, 40 papers were accepted. Many excellent papers were unfortunately not selected due to time and space constraints. We sincerely regret this and extend our warm welcome and gratitude to all professionals for their active participation in future academic annual conferences.
