Features: Environmental sculptor, public art researcher, visiting professor at Aomori University. Born in Hokkaido in 1944, he graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Fine Arts School at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1968. Since then, he has been engaged in sculpture and environmental sculpture creation, as well as research on ideal urban environments and urban landscapes. From 1968 to 1970, he studied at the Ohara Laboratory of the Department of Urban Engineering at the University of Tokyo. In 1970, he went to the United States and worked at Debbid Spektra Architects. After 1982, he developed an interest in public art in the United States and Europe, dedicating himself to collecting information and taking photographs.
