Features: "Urban Design of the Public Space System along the Central Axis of Shenzhen's Central District" is the in-depth improvement design of the 250m-wide central green belt proposed in the 1996 international urban design consulting's preferred scheme, undertaken by the renowned Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa in 1997 upon invitation. Applying his theory of symbiosis, Kurokawa introduced the concept of an ecological-information axis. He creatively interpreted the changes in temporal sequence, dynamics, functions, festivals, forms, metaphors, and perspectives along the axis space into a unique urban musical score. The central axis design was established as a three-dimensional composite urban public space system composed of a series of parks, squares, and development spaces. This public space system is hailed as the green lifeline of the central district, serving as its spine and soul.
