Features: This book is one of the series textbooks for the civil engineering major's promotion to a higher degree. It was compiled based on the "Basic Requirements for Teaching of Major Courses in Adult Higher Education in Industry and Engineering" promulgated by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education in April 1998. Based on the training objectives of adult higher education, while ensuring that the educational quality is largely consistent with that of ordinary universities, this book fully considers the characteristics of adult education and the existing mechanical foundation of students who are promoting to a higher degree. With the purpose of engineering application, the basic theory is kept to the extent of "necessary" and "sufficient," strengthening mechanical concepts while downplaying the scientific system. The content of the original theoretical mechanics and material mechanics is interconnected, integrated, and permeated to form a new system of engineering mechanics. The book is divided into three parts: Part I Static Analysis of Rigid Bodies, Part II Elastic Static Analysis, and Part III Dynamic Analysis. To facilitate self-study, each chapter begins with learning objectives, highlighting the key points and critical content of the chapter, and ends with a summary, accompanied by appropriate review questions to inspire readers to think, analyze, and research problems. It also includes exercises and answers.
