To meet the needs of urban construction development, while considering factors such as the convenience of manhole cover production, compliance with environmental requirements, cost reduction, and ensuring safety, this standard for steel fiber reinforced concrete manhole covers was formulated based on the practical experience of research, production, and application of steel fiber reinforced concrete manhole covers in China in recent years, and by comparing its effectiveness with cast iron manhole covers. For ease of application, the geometric dimensions of steel fiber reinforced concrete manhole covers specified in this standard can be compatible with the supports of cast iron manhole covers. There are no equivalent or identical foreign product standards for this standard. Appendix A of this standard is an integral part of the standard. This standard is the first issuance and will come into effect on June 1, 2002. This standard was proposed by the China Building Materials Industry Association. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Cement Products Standardization Technical Committee. The responsible drafting unit of this standard is the Suzhou Concrete and Cement Products Research Institute. The participating drafting units of this standard are the Suzhou Building Materials and Construction Design Institute, Jiangsu Province Jurong City Keda Technology Development Co., Ltd., Xiamen Road and Bridge Building Materials Equipment Co., Ltd., Quanzhou Licheng Southern Building Materials Equipment Co., Ltd., Kunshan Baching Cement Products Co., Ltd., Danyang City Post and Telecommunications Equipment Factory, and Shanghai Urban Cement Products Service Co., Ltd. The main drafters of this standard are Yu Qi, Chen Fang, Li Zhiwei, Cai Xiaochuan, Chang Jinxiang, Fu Jinfa, Zhou Renfa, Lou Haijun, Zhang Zhaosheng, and Tang Guanzuo. This standard is entrusted to the Suzhou Concrete and Cement Products Research Institute for interpretation.
