After joint review by relevant authorities, it has been approved as a national standard, numbered GB50073-2001, and shall come into effect on January 1, 2001. This code was developed in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Construction and the State Planning Commission, Jisong (1992) 490 and (1992) Jianbiao No. 10. Specifically, it was revised by the China Electronics Engineering Design Institute in conjunction with relevant units to formulate the "Design Code for Cleanrooms," GBJ73-84. During the revision process, the revision team conducted extensive surveys and research, as well as necessary testing, based on the actual conditions of cleanroom design, construction, and operation in China. They thoroughly summarized the experience gained from the implementation of the "Design Code for Cleanrooms," GBJ73-84, for over 10 years, and adopted the cleanliness levels equivalent to the international standard ISO14644-1 "Cleanrooms and Associated Controlled Environments, Part 1—Cleanliness Classes." Opinions were widely solicited from relevant units across the country, and finally it was reviewed and finalized by this department in conjunction with relevant authorities. This code consists of 9 chapters and 4 appendices. Its main contents include: General Provisions, Terms, Cleanliness Levels of Air, Overall Design, Building, Air Purification, Water Supply and Drainage, Gas Pipelines, Electrical Systems, etc.
