The revision was made to the Ministry Standard "Technical Code for Geotechnical Engineering Survey in Metallurgical Industry Construction" published in 1988. The "Technical Code for Geotechnical Engineering Survey" (YS5202-2004) was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission as an industry standard and came into effect on April 1, 2005.
