Publish Date: 2002-01-01
Features: The Casting Handbook is divided into six volumes: Cast Iron, Cast Steel, Cast Non-ferrous Alloys, Molding Materials, Casting Processes, and Special Casting. This book is Volume 3, Cast Non-ferrous Alloys. The second edition is a comprehensive revision based on the first edition. Many technical standards and process specifications have been updated, and new technical content has been improved and supplemented to reflect technological trends. This volume consists of 11 chapters: The Introduction provides a brief history, prospects, and outlook for the development of cast non-ferrous alloys. The chapters on Basic Knowledge, Metal and Non-metal Raw Materials, and Melting Furnaces introduce the fundamental knowledge, raw materials, and melting furnaces required for preparing various non-ferrous alloys. The chapters on Cast Aluminum Alloys, Cast Magnesium Alloys, Cast Titanium Alloys, Cast Copper and Copper Alloys, Cast Zinc Alloys, Cast Bearing Alloys, and Cast High-temperature Alloys respectively cover the grades, chemical composition, microstructure, various properties, application characteristics, melting and pouring processes, heat treatment specifications, quality control, and defect analysis of each casting alloy. The appendix lists international standards for cast aluminum and copper alloys, major national standards abroad, and a comparison of domestic and international standards. This handbook is primarily intended for technical personnel engaged in casting production, but it can also serve as a reference for researchers in material science and for faculty and students in related disciplines at universities and colleges.
