Features: This book is intended for higher vocational education majors in mechanical and electrical engineering, and can also serve as a textbook for undergraduate students in closely related fields and non-mechanical fields. It is a premium textbook for higher education in Beijing. This book is the first part of "Fundamentals of Mechanical Design." It consists of two parts: Part 1 is "Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering Materials"; Part 2 is "Mechanical Engineering Mechanics." Part 1, "Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering Materials," primarily introduces the mechanical properties of metallic materials, the iron-carbon phase diagram, the specifications, grades, main properties, and applications of commonly used metallic materials. Part 2, "Mechanical Engineering Mechanics," primarily introduces the basic knowledge of mechanical mechanics and material mechanics. In terms of mechanical mechanics, it covers the fundamentals of statics, plane and spatial force systems, the mechanical motion of points, the mechanical motion of rigid bodies, the dynamic analysis of material points, momentum, and moment of momentum. In terms of material mechanics, it primarily introduces stress analysis and strength calculations of materials under tension, torsion, bending, and combined deformation, as well as the strength theory of mechanical engineering materials and the stability analysis of columns, among other fundamental knowledge of material mechanics, using common applications in mechanical engineering as examples.
